Christian Peacemaker Teams UK

Christian Peacemaker Teams UK is an umbrella group for regional CPT groups in the United Kingdom.

We provide support for CPT members and fellow travellers around the UK as they follow Christ's way of shalom both locally and internationally. We offer resources and speakers for churches around the UK interested in learning more about Christian Peacemaking.

We hope to raise the visibility of nonviolence as an alternative way of solving conflict and specifically introduce UK Christians to the work of CPT. We also want to build relationships with other like-minded organizations across the country. CPT is committed to following the nonviolent way of Jesus and offers an organized alternative to war and other forms of lethal inter-group conflict. CPT's work is focused on three main areas:

• Trained, skilled teams from “the outside” that work effectively to spur and support local efforts toward nonviolent peacemaking;
• "Getting in the way" of injustice through direct nonviolent intervention, public witness and reporting to the larger world community to make a difference;
• Peace team work that engages congregations, meetings and support groups at home to play a key advocacy role with policy makers
